Support Help for Personal Circuit Information

Contact Information Tab

Enter Data here for your circuit. There is only one record here that is used, regardless of how many sections you may have.

Enter Circuit Information on this page. As you type your name, it will appear in the box above. If you have no middle name, Circuit Data on the Go knows whether to put a period into the name.

Much of what you see here will appear on your circuit letterhead so check it carefully for how you want it to appear. If it does not look right, then come back to this page and adjust the fields.

Personal Info Tab

This form will assist you in entering, saving and then printing to fillable PDF your personal information for the District Overseer. You can of course also enter your wife's information in this form as well. This is information that the DO also requests for his PQR forms while he is with you.

Settings Tab

jw.org log in - You will see the option of entering the log in information for jw.org. It will ask you to do this the first time you go to the site if you do not have it entered in. For more information on logging into jw.org See Entering jw.org log in information.

www.cdotg.net log in - Entering your password here will allow you to quickly enter the website for further information. It also is used to check your registration number when you go to update.

Incoming Circuit Overseer

When changing assignments, you can place a name and date under the "Moving Tab" and this will print out the s-302's correctly to your congregations for the next brother coming after you. Currently there is no provision for automatically sending the s-307 form from the program. Given that this is only done once every three years, it was deemed as something that could easily be done by the user. Simply fill the s-307 out correctly and attach to whoever you would like.

Select Stationery

This will help you pick from a variety of different formats for stationery as well as inserting custom images.

Stationery Selection - You have the ability to select from a variety of different types of stationery. Go to this page and then all your stationery will be selected from the style noted. This allows a variety of formats so that all our letters don?t look identical! More will be added as time goes on. So keep checking!

How to Insert Your Signature - Scan a good copy of your signature. You can scan your signature if you want in a large image, making it even 6 inches across or larger using a felt tip pen. Then after scanning this into an image, crop the image until it is cropped just around the edges of the image, of the signature, the closer the crop to the signature image, the larger it will appear in the Signature Field on your stationery.

Tip: On your Mac go to Applications and then find Utilities at the bottom. You will find a program called Grab This is tremendously useful for turning anything on your screen into an image you can use anywhere including your database. For example, you may really like your own picture on your letter head. Just Grab it using Grab. Open the document you want to copy. Then open Grab. Use your command + Tab on your computer and you will go back to Grab. Then go to ?Capture? at the top of the screen. And select ?Selection?. After playing with it for a while, you?ll get it right! Save your picture after you select it to a place where you will remember where it is by going back to ?File? and then ?Save as?.

Sharing/Moving Tab

Get Ready to Give to Sub - This is helpful if you want to give this data to a sub or send to another Circuit Overseer. This takes out any info that might not be needed and to avoid falling into the wrong hands. Check all the items that you would like to have removed. Be sure to make a backup, then close your open database that would be your primary database and then open your copy that you have made. Remove the information and send the database. Then you can go back to working in your original or primary database.

Move to New Circuit - When moving, save your database to your computer with a new name such as "Circuit Data On The Go XX-1" with your circuit designation. Then use the "Move to New Circuit" function. Your new database will now be ready to add more information. You can still perform updates on your database in the future. Just remember that after an update, the file will always be renamed "Circuit Data On The Go". Then you can rename it back to your circuit designation to keep it straight with any other circuits you are working with!

When moving to a new circuit, a number of factors need to be considered. Circuit Data On The Go tries to be as versatile as it can. Many options are presented depending on what your preferences are. You may want to delete all information and start over. This can be done! Or you may wish to keep the folks you have met in your database. However, to avoid confusion, it is probably best to be sure all appointments and congregation information not in your new circuit is included in the database and Circuit Data On The Go will handle this for you. Some things will remain, such as “Suggestions for Agenda Points which you may decide to keep. Your personal information will remain, and you can update it manually. When you click on the button, you may exit or refuse to remove any information. If you do it differently than you intended, you can always restore from a backup later!

But What if the Brother Before me has CDOTG? Can I put my Settings in his database and continue working?

YES! We have added a feature for users that will allow you to take another brother's database from the circuit you are going to and then bring in your settings, such as all the notes for your emails and other settings! Here's how, it's simple, follow this method:

Here's how it works

  • Open YOUR database the one you have been working in, go to "Directory>Circuit Info and the "Share/Moving" tab.
  • Then Click "Export Settings", follow the prompts and your database will then close
  • Open the file now on your desktop named "Click to Convert Settings for CDOTG.fmp12"
  • Allow the database to run the conversion, making it ready to import into the database given to you by the brother you are replacing
  • After this is completed and the file closes, then open the database given to you that you want to 'take over'.
  • Again, go to Directory>Circuit Info> and the "Share/Moving" tab and click the button "Import Settings"
  • All your notes and messages, Agenda Points, Field Service Records and letter composition will now be imported into your database! So easy!

Special Note on Sending your Database Be sure to also take out your registration number or key for your program that we send you. Your Key is unique to you and other brothers will use their key to work in the program. It does not go with the circuit you are leaving.
