Support Issues

Foreign Language Support

We are working to update Circuit Data On The Go to be as Foreign Language compatible as possible. If you would like to assist in this effort in your language, please let me know! It is simple to assist and takes only a few minutes.

The Challenges of Providing the Program in Foreign Languages

As you know, our organization is a very large organization (not Circuit Data On The Go!) and serves many people, in many languages and in many lands or regions. This creates unique challenges for the developer of just about anything, including software. Not only do languages change, but date formats, time formats, phone number formats, postal code, and etc and etc! The challenges of meeting all these needs are tremendous. Obviously we cannot include all of these different possibilities in this program. Circuit Data On The Go originates and is primarily used in the United States. However, we are working on adding additional support for foreign languages and their regions.

Foreign Language Improvements

We are working on translation of 5 more languages at present. You will notice that Japanese has been started, but for now incomplete, however, Vietnamese and Indonesian are on the way as well as others. We hope to have about 20 languages or so available by early next year. At the same time, we will be increasing the "vocabulary" of the program so that all interface elements will be in the user's language.

Why the emphasis on foreign language?

Seems like the answer is obvious, but many circuit overseers serve foreign language groups and congregations. Having letters and information in the language of the group or congregation, such as with regards to visits, etc. can be most encouraging. Usually having a simple translation of the text you might supply will allow personalized letters to be written to congregations. However, we also have a number in other countries currently benefiting from the program as well. These too are making use of these features.
